Colombia’s Stock Market Hits Five-Year High Amid Political Tensions and Technical Strength

According to the latest charts and official market data, Colombia’s main stock index, MSCI COLCAP, experienced a significant upswing, closing at 1,762.46 points on July 28, a notable rise of 3.11%.

This marks a new five-year high, fueled by strong local and international investor interest, despite growing political tensions and ongoing economic concerns.

Grupo Nutresa led the top gainers, closing with a 1.90% increase, followed closely by Canacol Energy at 1.49% and Grupo Aval Pref, which rose by 1.20%. On the downside, Davivienda Pref dropped by 2.64%, Celsia fell 1.37%, and CF Colombiana declined 1.25%.

Technical analysis highlights strong bullish signals in the COLCAP index. On the daily chart, the price broke convincingly above the critical resistance level of 1,752, indicating powerful buying momentum.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) moved above 70, showing an overbought condition. This implies caution, as the market may soon face selling pressure to correct recent gains.
