The Love of Lesbian Mexico City farewell now spans two nights, after the band sold out the 10,000-seat Auditorio Nacional.

Love of Lesbian, the Spanish indie band from the outskirts of Barcelona, is saying goodbye to Mexico before an indefinite break. The Love of Lesbian Mexico City farewell show at the Auditorio Nacional, on Wednesday 25 November 2026, has sold out.

The band has added one more date, at the smaller Teatro Metropólitan on Tuesday 24 November. The promoter, OCESA, bills it as the band’s last show in the city.

Love of Lesbian Mexico City: Two Nights, Two Venues

The Auditorio Nacional, on Paseo de la Reforma next to Chapultepec Park, is Mexico City’s best-known concert hall. OCESA says the band sold more than 10,000 seats there.

The show starts at 20:30 Mexico City time on Wednesday 25 November. Face-value prices ran from MX$550 (US$31) in the upper tier to MX$2,700 (US$155) in the top tier, Preferente A, before fees.

After the sell-out, the band announced a further date at the Teatro Metropólitan, a historic theatre in the city centre. Sales opened on 21 August 2026, after two presales for fans and Banamex card holders.

OCESA called the extra night a gift for the band’s most loyal fans. It falls the night before the Auditorio show, not after it.

The Teatro Metropólitan holds about 3,000 people, a fraction of the Auditorio’s capacity. It suits a more intimate goodbye.

Why This Is a Farewell

The band has announced an indefinite break from live performance. They called it “a long-lasting see you soon” rather than a split.

“We want the silence that is coming to be as honest as the noise we have shared,” the band said. The pause begins in December 2026, after the final tour dates.

The farewell tour came through Mexico in the spring, starting with the Vive Latino festival in March. It also took in Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, León, Guadalajara and the Tecate Pa’l Norte festival in Monterrey.

November is the goodbye. For many Mexican fans, these are the last chances to see the band for years.

Who Love of Lesbian Are

The band formed in 1997 in Sant Vicenç dels Horts, a town near Barcelona. Singer Santi Balmes writes most of the lyrics, which mix humour, heartbreak and surreal images.

Love of Lesbian first sang in English, then switched to Spanish in the mid-2000s. That change made them one of the best-known bands of Spanish indie music.

Albums from 2009 and 2012 filled big venues in Spain and built a following in Mexico and South America. Their newest release, Nouvelle Cuisine Caníbal Vol. 3, is a career-spanning compilation that also includes unreleased songs.

Their best-known songs include Club de Fans de John Boy and Allí Donde Solíamos Gritar. Both are staples of their concerts, though no set list for Mexico City has been published.

Mexico is one of the biggest markets outside Spain for Spanish rock and indie bands. Festivals such as Vive Latino and Tecate Comuna put them in front of large young crowds.

Love of Lesbian has toured Mexico regularly, with Teatro Metropólitan shows in 2014, 2016 and 2022. The Auditorio date is its third there, after 2018 and 2022.

The Auditorio Nacional sits next to the Auditorio metro station on Line 7. The Teatro Metropólitan is in the historic centre, close to the Alameda Central park.

Both venues are central and well served by public transport. After a late show, a ride-hailing app is the simpler way home.

What Comes Next

No dates after Puebla appeared in the announcements checked on 24 September. No date has been given for a return to the stage.
