Latam Airlines Adds Two New Routes from Chile to Brazil

Latam Airlines has introduced two new flight routes from Chile to Brazil, connecting to Belo Horizonte and Florianópolis.

Before this, they already flew to São Paulo, Río de Janeiro, Curitiba, and Porto Alegre. So now, there are six routes in total.

This is the first time there’s a direct flight between Chile and Belo Horizonte. The flight to Florianópolis used to be only in summer. Now, it’s available all year round.

Last year, Latam Airlines carried over a million passengers between these two countries. They expect this number to grow with these new routes.

Latam recently reported profits after leaving bankruptcy last year. Brazil is vital for them. It’s a place where they have many business and tourist flights.

María Paz Villasante, from Latam, is happy about the new routes. She says it shows the airline is strong. They now fly to 147 places in 25 countries.

The flight to Belo Horizonte will be three times a week. It’s on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

In its first year, it hopes to carry 46,700 passengers on this route. For Florianópolis, it’s different. From November to March 2024, there will be seven flights a week.

From April onwards, it drops to four times a week. They hope to move over 77,500 passengers in the first year on this route.
