Cuba cedes tourism management of a paradisiacal key to Canadian group

New flights from Toronto, Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa, and Halifax will start operating in the coming months.

Cuban authorities transferred the operation of all lodging centers and other extra-tourist activities on Cayo Largo del Sur, a paradisiacal island in the south of the country, to the Canadian hotel group Blue Diamond, according to an executive of the company.

"For us, it is very important because as a chain, we are going to take over the key in an integral way at the level of exploitation, at the level of commercialization, not only the 11 hotel products we have, which are seven villas and four hotels, but also we are going to take charge of the extra . . .
