Small companies account for 76% of new hires in Brazil in 2022

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Micro and small businesses accounted for 75.9% of formal hires from January to April. Out of 770,600 vacancies, 585,600 were opened in this category.

In 2022, the participation of medium and large companies in job creation fell to 18.8%, with 145,000 vacancies to be filled.

The data is included in the New General Cadastre of Employed and Unemployed of the Ministry of Economy. The system collects information on formal employment contracts month by month.
