Amazon.com expands services to attract sellers to its platform in Brazil
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Amazon.com is expanding the reach of its services to partner sellers, previously concentrated in the state of São Paulo, and launching a campaign to encourage shopkeepers amid heightened competition among marketplaces operating in Brazil.
Last month, Magazine Luiza started a campaign in the Northeast to attract small businesses to its platform.
At the same time, the growth of Asian marketplaces in the country, such as China’s Shopee, increases the competition for shopkeepers to increase revenue with digital and logistics services and expand and diversify the supply of products to consumers.

Amazon’s announcement includes expanding its fulfillment service, previously restricted to the state of São Paulo, to partner sellers in Rio de Janeiro and Paraná.
It is a package of services that includes storage of products in Amazon’s distribution centers, packaging, shipping, and customer service.
The company has 12 distribution centers in Brazil.
Sellers from other states will not yet have the complete package, but they can contract the product delivery service.
Delivery by Amazon was launched in October 2021, for partners in the São Paulo market, and is now also available in the Federal District, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Pernambuco, Espírito Santo, Ceará, Bahia, and Mato Grosso.
“Amazon invests in small and medium-sized partner seller businesses and helps these entrepreneurs reach more customers,” said Ricardo Garrido, director of Amazon’s partner seller store, in a statement.
The company also announced today the opening of its international sales program, which was previously restricted to guest sellers.
Another initiative is the launch of the “indicate and win” tool, which, starting this month, will reward up to R$200 (US$41) to the partner who indicates another seller to the platform.
