“Whether you’re just starting to put together a collection or you’re a seasoned veteran looking to cross a long-time want off your list, there’s something for everyone at the Feira de Vinil.” comments Tee Cardaci, American expatriate, vinyl enthusiast and DJ.

“I’ve enjoyed participating in the past as a DJ but I’m looking forward this year to just going and hunting down some bargains and maybe making some new discoveries, in addition to watching some of the short films that will be on offer,” he continues.

This vinyl fair has a lot more than just the records themselves, with t-shirt and CD vendors in attendance as well. They will also be presenting the first CineClube, which will be showing short films that deal with the areas of music, culture and beyond.

Included in the films being presented are ‘Amar é para os Fortes,’ directed and scripted by rapper Marcelo D2. There will also be a showing of the short film ‘Duel of the Titans’ about Furacão 2000, directed by Cavi Borges.

Other films featured in the Cineclube include ‘The Big Boy Show,’ about the legendary DJ and presenter Big Boy, by Leandro Petersen and Cláudio Daher, and finally ‘Um dia com os Blacks que ainda existem’ by filmmaker Marcio Graffiti. After the movies there will also be talks with the directors, plus special guests.

Over sixty exhibitors will be in attendance, from Rio and São Paulo, including the stores Tropicália, Satisfaction, Baratos da Ribeiro, Mara Records, Sensorial (SP), BIg Papa (SP) and shopkeepers from several other Brazilian states with exclusive materials, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Brazil News,

A pair of musical legends will also be present to receive the ‘Feira de Vinil’ trophy: Leny Andrade and Dóris Monteiro, two of the most important Brazilian MPB singers of their generation. Andrade has been described by Tony Bennett as the “Ella Fitzgerald of Brazil,” while Monteiro is famous for touring with legendary Brazilian songwriter Dorival Caymmi. The awards are a celebration of their careers and their contribution to Brazilian musical heritage.
