Venezuela and the Saharawi Arab Republic sign 11 comprehensive cooperation agreements

Venezuela and the Sahrawi Arab Republic signed 11 comprehensive cooperation agreements during a meeting held on March 21 in Caracas between Presidents Nicolás Maduro and Brahim Ghali.

“We have signed 11 integral cooperation documents, and we have to guarantee that each of the documents we have signed become a people-to-people cooperation plan,” said Maduro during an announcement at the Miraflores Palace (seat of government).

The agreements involve education, agriculture, fishing, aquaculture, water, culture, and health.

“In addition to the excellent political, diplomatic, and human relations, we have to guarantee excellent relations of integral cooperation in practical terms and that the Venezuelan and Saharawi peoples receive this cooperation directly”, he said.

During his intervention, Maduro advocated for respecting the United Nations Security Council resolutions on the Saharawi Republic.

“Venezuela has had a historical position, and we maintain it today more than ever that the resolutions of the UN Security Council be respected and that the Saharawi people be given the right to decide their self-determination,” he said.

Ghali arrived on Sunday in Caracas, where he held meetings with various authorities of the Caribbean country.
