Organizations such as the Cuban Observatory for Human Rights (OCDH), Justicia 11-J, and Cubalex have expressed their reservations about the future of political dissidents currently imprisoned in Cuba.

All this regarding the initiative advanced by the socialist tyranny of Daniel Ortega a couple of weeks ago, where more than 200 political prisoners were expatriated after being sent on a plane to the United States.

“The recent release of 222 political prisoners from Nicaragua and their immediate deportation to the United States has raised an alert in Cuban civil society about a similar ‘solution’ in the current context of the island,” states the joint manifesto of these organizations that was released earlier this week.

The OCDH, Justice 11-J, and Cubalex believe that the United States and the European Union could be on the verge of promoting a scenario similar to that of the political prisoners of the Central American country a little more than a week ago.

“The alert is motivated by the conversations between the Cuban State and instances such as the Catholic Church, the European Union (EU) and the Government of the United States, which have expressed positions in favor of the unconditional release of the political prisoners”, continues the public remittance.

Cuba has experienced an intensification of repression against the opposition since, in the middle of last year, it took to the streets en masse to demand the resignation of president Miguel Diaz-Canel.
