Vehicle production in Brazil rises 6.8% in May

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The production of vehicles increased by 6.8% in May compared to the same month of 2021, according to the balance sheet of the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea) published today (7). In May this year, 205.9 thousand units were produced, an increase of 10.7% over April.

From January to May, 888.1 thousand vehicles were produced, down 9.5% compared to the first five months of 2021.

According to Anfavea president Márcio de Lima Leite, automakers struggle to maintain their production lines due to a global shortage of components.
