Brazil’s agricultural production will reach a record level this year -IBGE

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Agribusiness will remain an important component of the Brazilian economy in 2022.

Estimated production of cereals, pulses, and oilseeds this year is expected to reach a record 271.9 million tons, 7.4% more than in 2021, according to the forecast, part of the Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production (LSPA) released Thursday (Oct. 02) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

In addition to production, the area to be harvested has also increased. According to the survey, there are 71.2 million hectares. This is 2.6 million hectares more than the 2021 area . . .
