Who Ney Matogrosso Is and What the Show Offers

Ney Matogrosso is an 85-year-old Brazilian singer, described by Rolling Stone Brasil as an iconic performer. The tour, called 85 Anos de Ousadia, or 85 Years of Boldness, marks his birthday.

Ney told Diário do Grande ABC that the show keeps the base of Bloco na Rua, which he has performed since 2019. It adds two unreleased songs and recreates ten of his historic costumes.

The costume from his 1976 show Bandido will be entirely gold, the only one he has revealed so far. The publicity photos are by David LaChapelle, whose first Brazilian subject was Ney.

“It was never meant to shock; it was my need to be free and loose,” Ney said, Rolling Stone Brasil reports. On retirement he said, “I am not saying goodbye to the stage” (translated from Portuguese).

The company 30e produces the tour, and Itaú Live presents it. Itaú, a Brazilian bank, sponsors the tour and gave its card holders a pre-sale.

The 2027 Tour Dates

Ney will play ten shows in 2027, but only five dates have been announced. The list below follows Brazilian press reports of the tour announcement.

  • São Paulo, Saturday, 30 January 2027: Nubank Parque.
  • Curitiba, Saturday, 3 April 2027: Arena da Baixada.
  • Recife area (Olinda), Saturday, 17 April 2027: Classic Hall.
  • Belo Horizonte, Saturday, 1 May 2027: Esplanada Norte do Mineirão.
  • Rio de Janeiro, Saturday, 18 December 2027: Maracanã stadium, though one listing names a different venue.

Jornal do Comércio, a Porto Alegre newspaper, reports that Porto Alegre has no confirmed date yet. More dates are expected, but none has been announced.

Tickets, Prices and Age Rules

Eventim is the online seller for the Curitiba show. A box office at Hard Rock Café Curitiba, Rua Buenos Aires 50 in Batel, also sells in person.

Tribuna do Paraná says the box office charges a processing fee. It opens Monday to Friday from 11:00 to 21:00 and on weekends from 9:00 to 21:00.

General sale opened on Monday, 31 August 2026, at noon online and at 1 p.m. at the box office. An Itaú pre-sale from 27 to 30 August gave 30% off full price, limited to four tickets per CPF.

A CPF is the Brazilian taxpayer number that most Brazilian ticket sites ask for. Whether foreign buyers can pay with a passport is not confirmed.

Tribuna do Paraná, a Curitiba newspaper, published these Curitiba prices on 27 August 2026. Full price is shown first, with half price (meia) in brackets.

  • Cadeira Superior (upper seats): BRL 195 (about US$39); half price BRL 97.50 (about US$20).
  • Pista (standing floor): BRL 295 (about US$59); half price BRL 147.50 (about US$30).
  • Cadeira Inferior (lower seats): BRL 395 (about US$79); half price BRL 197.50 (about US$40).
  • Pista Premium Itaú Personnalité: BRL 595 (about US$119); half price BRL 297.50 (about US$60).
  • Lounge Premium: BRL 695 (about US$139); half price BRL 347.50 (about US$70).
  • VIP Super Fã packages: Silver BRL 1,095 (about US$219) and Platinum BRL 3,595 (about US$720), full price.

Social-price tickets sit between half and full price, and Tribuna do Paraná says any buyer can get them. The buyer donates 1 kg of non-perishable food at the entrance.

Tribuna do Paraná says entry is only through the Eventim.PASS app, with the QR code released 24 hours before. Screenshots and printed tickets are not accepted at the gate.

Children aged 5 to 15 must enter with a parent or legal guardian, and teenagers aged 16 and 17 may enter alone. Bem Paraná adds that this is subject to court decisions, and the Platinum VIP package is for ages 18 and over.

Conversions use open.er-api.com rates of Monday, 26 October 2026, when US$1 bought BRL 4.995. These are the published late-August prices, so check the Eventim page for current availability.

Getting to Arena da Baixada

Arena da Baixada, also called Estádio Joaquim Américo, stands at Rua Buenos Aires 1260 in the Água Verde neighborhood. Lance, a Brazilian sports daily, calls it a 2014 World Cup venue that also hosts large cultural events.

Lance lists the Centenário/Campo Comprido bus line from the Rodoviária, with transfers at the Mariano Torres and Rui Barbosa tube stations. Curitiba’s tube stations are the city’s raised bus-boarding stops.

Parking nearby is limited, so Lance advises arriving early on event days. Access is mainly by Avenida Getúlio Vargas and Rua Buenos Aires.

Taxis wait around the stadium, including on Avenida Iguaçu, and Lance suggests ride apps to avoid traffic and parking searches. Plan your ride home before the show, because demand after a big event is usually high.

The arena has four gates, and Lance says to check the gate printed on your ticket before you leave. Its guide covers football days, so concert gate arrangements may differ.

What to Expect on the Night

Tribuna do Paraná reports that gates open at 17:00 and the show starts at 20:00. Bem Paraná gave no time, so confirm both with Eventim.

Bem Paraná says the show is not a farewell or a nostalgic look back. Ney will revive some of his biggest hits, but no song list has been published.

No opening act has been announced in the sources checked. Bag, food and alcohol rules for the concert have not been published either.

Entry Rules and Safety for US Visitors

US citizens have needed a Brazilian visa for any purpose since 10 April 2025, the State Department says. Apply only through the government-authorized e-visa site, and do it before you book flights.

Your US passport must be valid on the day you enter Brazil, and it needs one blank page for the entry stamp. Check the official portal for current fees and processing times.

The State Department rates Brazil Level 2, Exercise Increased Caution, in an advisory issued on 29 May 2025. It warns that violent crime, including murder, armed robbery and carjacking, can occur in urban areas day and night.

The advisory does not single out Curitiba. Keep your phone and valuables out of sight near the stadium, and use licensed taxis or ride apps at night.

What It Means for You

A US fan should treat this as a real trip, with the visa first, tickets second and flights third. The show is 159 days away, so there is time, but sectors can sell out.

Buy only through Eventim or the Hard Rock Café Curitiba box office, and never pay a stranger for a ticket file. Add the cost of flights, a hotel and local transport to the ticket prices above.

What Is Not Known

Whether the Curitiba show has sold out or any sector has changed price since late August is not confirmed. The Eventim page blocks automated reading, so the writer could not check it on 26 October.

The start time and gate time come from one newspaper, and no opening act, set length or song list is published. Rules on bags, food and alcohol are also missing.

Whether foreign buyers can pay without a CPF, and who qualifies for half-price tickets, is not explained. No transport or parking plan for the concert has been published.

What Comes Next

The tour opens in São Paulo on Saturday, 30 January 2027, at Nubank Parque, nine weeks before Curitiba. Recife area follows on Saturday, 17 April 2027.

Gate details, transport plans and the opening act are likely to appear on the Eventim page nearer the date. Visa applications should start well before then.
