Los Tres Unplugged Anniversary Shows Sell Out Two Santiago Nights

The Los Tres Unplugged anniversary has sold out two nights in Santiago, three decades after the acoustic album that defined the band.

Los Tres, one of Chile’s best-known rock bands, have sold out two Santiago concerts marking 30 years of their MTV Unplugged. The Los Tres Unplugged shows take place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November 2026.

The venue is the Santander Arena in Parque O’Higgins, which was called Movistar Arena when the first date was announced in June. PuntoTicket, the only official seller, has no tickets left for either night.

Los Tres Unplugged: Dates, Venue and Sell-Out

The band announced the first show on 23 June with a surprise acoustic set in Baquedano metro station. Hundreds of people stopped to listen, La Cuarta reported.

Tickets went on sale on 25 June through PuntoTicket, with a 20 percent discount for the first 24 hours. The first night sold out, and in early July the band added a second and final date for 15 November.

On 22 September, La Tercera reported that the second night had also sold out. No third date had been announced.

Parque O’Higgins lies just south of Santiago’s city centre. PuntoTicket lists the Saturday show at 21:00 and the Sunday show at 20:00.

The arena opened in 2006 and is Santiago’s main indoor venue for big concerts. Since September 2026 it has carried the name of a bank sponsor, Santander, in place of the phone company Movistar.

Why the 1995 Unplugged Matters

MTV Unplugged was the music channel’s acoustic concert series, famous in the 1990s for sessions by Nirvana and Eric Clapton. Los Tres recorded theirs in Miami on 14 September 1995.

It was the first Unplugged by a Chilean band. The album mixed their rock songs with cueca, bolero and jazz.

The session was part of a wave of Latin American Unplugged albums in the mid-1990s. Mexico’s Café Tacvba and Argentina’s Charly García recorded theirs in the same period.

Cueca is Chile’s national dance, and its place in a rock set was part of the album’s appeal. The record reached listeners well beyond the band’s rock audience.

The anniversary line-up is the classic one: Álvaro Henríquez, Ángel Parra, Titae Lindl and Francisco Molina. All four played at the metro announcement, where Hojas de Té was among the songs.

Who Los Tres Are

Los Tres formed in Concepción, a university city in south-central Chile, in 1987. Their mix of rock and roll, jazz and Chilean folk made them one of the country’s biggest bands of the 1990s.

Álvaro Henríquez writes and sings most of their songs. Ángel Parra, the guitarist, comes from Chile’s best-known folk-music family, the Parras.

Their studio albums La Espada & la Pared, from 1995, and Fome, from 1997, are among their best-known records. The Unplugged sits between them in time and in style.

The band has split and reunited more than once over the decades. For this anniversary, the four musicians who made the 1995 album are back together.
