Doctors Retrieve Gugu Liberato’s Organs Donated for Use in Transplants
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The transfer was performed after a six-hour surgery, in the early hours Sunday, when the organs were harvested for donation. According to the family, 50 people should benefit from organ donations.

The death of the TV host was confirmed on Friday, November 22nd at 9:06 PM, Brasília time, by the host’s press office with a note signed by the family. Gugu suffered an accident at his home in Florida, United States, on Wednesday, November 20th.
The family is now working on repatriation papers for the body. They believe this should occur on Wednesday or Thursday this week. Gugu Liberato will be mourned in the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo and buried in the Getsêmani cemetery, in Morumbi, in the family vault.
Gugu’s relatives asked the medical team if it would be possible to donate one of the organs to a Brazilian patient in line for a transplant, but they were told that it would not be feasible because of the distance and time of preservation of the donated organs.
Organ donation was a wish of the TV host and could benefit about 50 people.
