RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The dispute for the space economy market, which in recent months has sparked a race among billionaires for the debut of off-Earth tourism, also fuels another lucrative business: the Internet via satellite market.
A Morgan Stanley report estimates that the global space industry is already worth about US$350 billion and could exceed US$1 trillion by 2040. Internet via satellite, which until 2016 was not present in this economy, will be responsible for at least 40% of the market expansion.
