Storm in southern Brazil – Santa Catarina hit hardest

An extratropical cyclone caused heavy rains and gusts of wind exceeding 100 kilometers per hour in the state of Santa Catarina, in southern Brazil, where there are displaced people and flooded roads.

In the last hours, 200 millimeters of water fell in Florianópolis, the capital of Santa Catarina, located in the center-west of the state, where several streets are flooded, CBN radio reported today.
