City in Santa Catarina state recorded snow and lowest temperature in Brazil in 2022, says Inmet

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The lowest temperature in Brazil in 2022 was recorded on Tuesday (17) in Bom Jardim da Serra, in the Santa Catarina mountain range. Data from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) show that the city, which also dawned with snow (video below) and freezing rain, marked -2.4 ° C during the early morning.

The measurement was made at the Morro da Igreja, the municipality's highest point, at 4 am. Shortly after, at 7 am, the thermometers showed -1°C.

The other coldest regions were General Carneiro in Paraná with 0.3°C, Vacaria in Rio . . .
