Murders in Brazil down 5% in the first half of the year

The number of murders in Brazil will continue to decline in 2022. This is according to the National Homicide Index compiled by g1, based on official data from 26 states and the Federal District.

In the first six months of this year, there were 20,100 homicides, down 5% from the same period last year.

Still, the number is high, with an average of more than 111 Brazilians murdered per day in the first half of 2022.
