Brazil: Security measures reinforced before military parade

Brasília's main avenue was blocked on Tuesday, September 6, as part of the reinforcement of security measures, one day before Brazil's Independence Day military parade. Some embassies adopted preventive measures due to the risk of incidents.

The Federal District State Police informed that the barriers installed on the monumental axis avenue would remain until the public gathering tomorrow at the military parade dispersed.

Before the blockade, which began at 8 PM on Monday, a group of trucks driven by supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro tried to enter the avenue, but the police prevented them from doing so . . .
