Angola: NowNow gets partnership with Mastercard 

NowNow, a company operating in Angola in the digital payment market, has recently established a partnership with Mastercard intending to reduce the risk of cyber attacks, mainly to those in the electronic monetary transaction sector.

The idea is to increase the security levels of users who carry out electronic monetary transactions in the Angolan context.

The partnership between Mastercard and NowNow comes amid a significant increase in cybercrime in Angola and worldwide, with serious consequences for individuals, families, institutions, and states.

The issue of cybercrime, for example, is regularly highlighted by figures released by the Nigerian Communications Commission, which explained that Nigeria loses about US$500 million per year exclusively due to cybercrime.

With this partnership, NowNow is trying to protect Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for various reasons by conducting regular web application penetration tests.

These tests ensure that SMB applications are not vulnerable to any cyber threat.

As an international company, NowNow has made this service offering available in Nigeria and Angola, with the perspective of expanding to other markets.

NowNow is the only African startup to participate in the latest Global Mastercard Start Path Program.

The program is designed to help late-stage startups innovate and scale. NowNow received operational support, business engagement, and the opportunity for strategic investment from the program.
