Pousada options in Pelourinho and the Centro Historico

Pelourinho and the wider Centro Histórico are the main base for history and culture. TripMundão’s 2025/2026 guide, dated 22 July 2026, lists simple pousadas at R$80–180 per night (US$15–35).

Pousada Solar dos Deuses sits at Largo do Cruzeiro de São Francisco 12. Rates start at R$740 a night, or US$142, per Melhores Destinos on 15 August 2026.

Across a survey of 21 pousadas, Melhores Destinos reported indicative prices roughly between R$147 and R$740 per night in July–August 2026. This is a range, not a fixed schedule.

Santo Antônio Além do Carmo: Design in Casarões

Santo Antônio is where restored mansions meet contemporary design. TripMundão’s guide places it in the mid-range, R$200–500 per night, with ‘pousadas with personality in Santo Antônio (renovated mansions with design)’.

Above R$500, the guide points to boutique hotels in Santo Antônio and Pelourinho with premium service, rooftop pools, and restaurants. These sit in the high-end band, with large jumps during Carnival and New Year.

Barra: Beachfront Convenience and Real Surges

Barra is the beach-and-convenience choice, with hostels from R$50–100 for dorms and R$120–200 for private rooms, per TripMundão. Mid-range hotels here with pool and breakfast sit in the R$200–500 band (US$38–96).

Pousada Barra Comfort sits at Rua Barão de Itapoan 118. Hotels.com showed R$236 a night, or US$45, and R$248 with fees on 31 July 2026.

Grande Hotel da Barra, a hotel, lists rates from R$499 for two, per Melhores Destinos on 15 August 2026. That equals US$96 at the PTAX rate.

Rio Vermelho and the Seafront: Where Named Options Run Out

Rio Vermelho is the gastronomic hub, and TripMundão’s guide places it squarely in the mid-range. The R$200–500 per night band includes ‘options in Rio Vermelho with gastronomic location’, per the source.

The guide points bigger budgets to resorts along the shore between Ondina and Itapuã, with private or semi-private beaches. These sit in the R$500–1,500 band, or US$96–288.

No 2026 sources name specific pousadas in Rio Vermelho or Ondina with published rates. If you want a named property there, you will need to check directly with the property.

Seasonality, Rates, and How to Read Them

All published rates move with demand. TripMundão labels its figures as ‘approximate values for 2025/2026’ and warns that season, holidays, Carnival, room category, taxes.

Booking lead time can change the final price substantially.

During Carnival and Réveillon (New Year), accommodation in Barra and Pelourinho can triple in price. Many properties require a minimum package of 4–5 nights, per TripMundão.
