Race Weekend Schedule in São Paulo and US Eastern Time
US clocks go back on Sunday 1 November, so São Paulo (three hours behind UTC) is two hours ahead of New York that weekend. Times below are São Paulo time first and US Eastern Time second.
Gates open at 8:00 a.m. local time on all three days, and the drivers’ parade is at noon on Sunday. The organisers reserve the right to change the schedule without notice, so check their schedule page in race week.
There is no sprint race in 2026, only three practice sessions, qualifying and the Grand Prix. The organisers say a sprint returns to Interlagos in 2027, when the weekend is set for 5 to 7 November.

How to Watch the São Paulo Grand Prix in the US
Apple TV is the only US broadcaster of Formula 1 in 2026, and the sport’s own broadcast list names no other US channel. Apple’s website lists the subscription at US$14.99 a month as of 4 November.
Every practice session is free in the Apple TV app without a subscription. That covers first practice (10:30 a.m. ET Friday), second practice (2:00 p.m. ET Friday) and third practice (9:30 a.m. ET Saturday).
Apple says a select number of race weekends are also free, but it does not say whether São Paulo is one of them. Qualifying and the race need a subscription unless Apple announces otherwise.
Apple TV subscribers in the US also get F1 TV Premium, the sport’s own streaming service, at no extra cost after linking their Apple account. Apple adds onboard cameras for every driver and extra data feeds to its live coverage.
Apple holds the exclusive US rights under a five-year partnership that began with the 2026 season. The sport’s broadcast list shows no cable channel and no other streaming service for the race.
What It Means for You
If you watch from home, set the alarm for noon ET on Sunday 8 November, which is 9:00 a.m. on the West Coast. Qualifying is at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, and Apple TV is the only live option for both.
If you travel, sort out the visa first, because US citizens need an e-visa to enter Brazil, and buy tickets only from official sellers. The cheapest full-price grandstand seat in the organisers’ last published list was R$990 (about US$183).
If you bring family, children under five are not allowed into the circuit, and every older child needs a ticket. The Heineken Village hospitality area admits only people aged 18 and over.
Interlagos Tickets: Prices in US$ and Where to Buy
Eventim, the ticket platform the organisers use, is the official seller for the São Paulo Grand Prix, at eventim.com.br/f1saopaulo. The first sale in November 2025 sold out in about eight minutes, and a small final batch went on sale on Wednesday 14 October.
The prices below are the organisers’ last published list, from 10 October, converted at 5.40 reais per US dollar (31 October 2026). The organisers have announced no later sale and Eventim says tickets are subject to availability, so we cannot say whether any remain.
Sectors R, M and B were already sold out when that list was published. Half-price tickets go only to students, seniors, people with disabilities and people aged 15 to 29, plus some public-school staff and retirees.
Fanzone, Hospitality and Ticket Safety
The Fanzone, on the Ayrton Senna kart track beside the circuit, costs R$620 (about US$115) for all three days. Half-price tickets cost R$310 (about US$57), and the music line-up includes João Gomes, Os Paralamas do Sucesso, IZA and Matuê.
Eventim’s page also lists the Heineken Village lawn area at R$2,480 (about US$459). The Grand Prix Club lounge, which includes pit-lane access, costs R$20,900 (about US$3,872).
Formula 1’s own ticket store shows Grandstands A and M as sold out and Heineken Village from €526.52 (about US$588). Its page also carries a “No tickets left” banner, so availability there is unconfirmed.
Buy only from Eventim, Formula 1’s ticket store, F1 Experiences or the organisers’ hospitality desk, and treat any other seller as a scam risk. The terms for ticket use, including the list of prohibited items, are at eventim.com.br/f1termos.
Food and drink inside the circuit are bought only with a prepaid cashless card that is valid for the three event days. Your gate is shown in the purchase confirmation email and on the ticket, so keep both on your phone.
Getting to Interlagos by Train and on Foot
Interlagos lies in the south of São Paulo, and the organisers recommend a special express train on Line 9-Emerald. The fare is R$35 round trip (about US$6.50), and the train stops at Cidade Dutra station, a short walk from the gates.
The organisers say Sector G is about 10 minutes on foot from Cidade Dutra station, and Sector H is 15 minutes away. Sectors D and M take 25 minutes, Sector A 30 minutes and the Heineken Village 37 minutes.
The organisers’ directions page says more transport information is coming. Check it again in race week, and leave early on Sunday because the walk and the gates take time.
Weather in São Paulo in November and What to Pack
INMET, Brazil’s national weather institute, puts the November rainfall normal for 1991 to 2020 at 143.9 millimetres (5.7 inches). That falls over about 11 days, and the average high is 26.9°C (about 80°F) at its city station, not at the circuit.
We found no official forecast for 6 to 8 November yet, so treat these figures as climate averages. Pack a rain jacket and sunscreen, and choose a covered sector (B, D, H, M or R) if rain would spoil your day.
Sectors A and G are uncovered, and the Porto Bank grandstand is covered.
Brazil Travel Safety and Entry Rules for Americans
The US State Department, the federal foreign ministry, rates Brazil at Level 2, Exercise Increased Caution, on an advisory page dated 29 May 2025. It warns that violent crime, including armed robbery and carjacking, can occur in urban areas day and night.
The advisory also marks informal housing developments (favelas) as Level 4, Do Not Travel, at any time, including on guided tours. Stay in busy areas, keep your phone out of sight and carry little cash.
US citizens need a visa to enter Brazil, and the State Department points travellers to the government-authorised e-visa site at brazil.vfsevisa.com. Your passport must be valid on the day you enter, and the department says no yellow fever vaccine is required.
We could not confirm the e-visa fee or processing time, so check the site and apply before you book flights. Read the State Department advisory again in race week.
What Is New at Interlagos This Year
São Paulo’s mayor, Ricardo Nunes, toured the renovated circuit on Thursday 29 October, with new fences, rebuilt grandstands and fresh asphalt. The organisers say new permanent grandstands at Sector D and the Orange Tree Club are expected to add 10,000 places.
Artist Eduardo Kobra launched a mural 225 metres (738 feet) long, called Nós Somos São Paulo (We Are São Paulo). It follows part of the track and includes Brazil’s three-time champion Ayrton Senna.
The organisers say the race drew more than 303,000 fans in 2025. They put its economic impact on the city at R$2.3 billion (about US$426 million).
Entry List: Rafael Câmara Makes His Haas Debut
Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu said on Tuesday 3 November that Esteban Ocon will not return to a race seat this season, and that Câmara will drive alongside Bearman in São Paulo. Câmara is signed to Haas for 2027, and the move brings his Formula 1 debut forward to his home race.
Ryo Hirakawa, Haas’s reserve driver, finished 10th and scored a point in Mexico City in Ocon’s place. Haas confirmed the change on 3 November.
Audi development driver Freddie Slater, 18, will drive Audi’s car in first practice in São Paulo, Formula 1 said on 22 October. Gabriel Bortoleto of Audi, the other Brazilian on the grid, is 14th in the championship with 14 points and finished eighth in Mexico City.
Antonelli Is Champion, and Second Place Is Open
Antonelli, 20, clinched the title at the Mexico City Grand Prix on Sunday 1 November by finishing third, behind race winner Verstappen and Hamilton. He is the youngest world champion in Formula 1 history, and he leads on 380 points after 19 of 23 rounds.
The drivers’ order behind him is tight: Verstappen of Red Bull 261, Hamilton of Ferrari 259, George Russell of Mercedes 250, Charles Leclerc of Ferrari 245 and Lando Norris of McLaren 221. Our report on the second-place fight has the Mexico City detail.
In the teams’ standings, Mercedes leads on 630 points, Ferrari has 504, Red Bull 382 and McLaren 365. McLaren says it is bringing upgrades to São Paulo (McLaren Plans Upgrades for Brazil), which could shake up the order between Red Bull and itself.
For Brazilian fans, the weekend has two home drivers, Câmara in his first Grand Prix and Bortoleto at his second home start. For US readers, the noon ET start and the Apple TV-only coverage are the practical facts to plan around.
What to Watch Next: Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi
Three rounds follow São Paulo on Formula 1’s official calendar: Las Vegas on 19 to 21 November, Qatar on 27 to 29 November and Abu Dhabi on 4 to 6 December. Abu Dhabi closes the 23-round season.
With the title settled, the points left decide second place and the teams’ order. Follow every story on our São Paulo Grand Prix updates page and the data room.
The Circuit: Interlagos and the Senna S
Interlagos, officially the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, is a 4.309-kilometre (2.68-mile) circuit, and the race covers 71 laps and 305.879 kilometres (190 miles). Valtteri Bottas holds the lap record of 1:10.540, set in 2018.
Building work began in 1938, and Formula 1 held its first world championship race there in 1973, won by Brazil’s Emerson Fittipaldi. The lap runs through the Senna S, then a snaking infield section, and ends with a climb to a banked final turn.
Formula 1 recommends Grandstand A, on the banked entry to the start-finish straight, for views of both the infield and the cars passing beneath you. The sport calls the Brazilian crowd a carnival atmosphere, and two Brazilian drivers, Bortoleto and Câmara, are on the grid.
Brazilian Grand Prix or São Paulo Grand Prix
The Brazilian Grand Prix 2026 and the São Paulo Grand Prix are the same race at Interlagos. Its official name is the Formula 1 MSC Cruises Grande Prêmio de São Paulo 2026.
It is the only Brazilian round of the 23-race season. The 20th round falls between Mexico City and Las Vegas.
What Is Not Known
It is not known whether any grandstand tickets remain after the final batch of 14 October, and the organisers have announced no further sale. Resale prices are not published by the organisers, and we have not verified any.
Audi has not said which race driver gives up the car to Slater in first practice, and Apple has not said whether São Paulo is a free race weekend. We found no official weather forecast for race weekend, and the e-visa fee and processing time are not confirmed here.
