Paraguay and Russia agree on a cultural cooperation program

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Governments of Paraguay and Russia announced the creation of a program of cultural cooperation in several disciplines, reported the Paraguayan Information Agency (IP).

“The Paraguayan National Secretariat of Culture (SNC) and the Russian Embassy in our country are promoting an exchange cooperation program in the cultural sphere, in several disciplines,” published IP.

The goals to be developed by both nations strengthen cultural ties in music, theater and circus art, dance, visual arts, library archive science, cultural heritage, cinematography, and literature.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Culture, Rubén Capdevila, and the Russian Ambassador to Paraguay, Alexandr Písarev.

Alexei Osipov, the cultural attaché of the Russian Embassy in Paraguay, and Teresita Silvero, director of National and International Cooperation of the SNC, also participated.

Capdevila highlighted the significant value of the agreement, emphasizing the cultural ties that unite both countries, especially in the musical arts.

“I am convinced that this program will help us strengthen contacts in the cultural area”, which began several decades ago with the founding of the first Ballet School of Paraguay and the Municipal Theater of Asuncion, founded by a Russian migrant or the Academy of Lyrical Singing, also founded by a Russian, he valued.

Likewise, Ambassador Pisarev thanked Minister Capdevila for his predisposition to achieve this important agreement, which aims to strengthen the cultural ties that unite both countries. This 2022 commemorates 30 years since the re-establishment of diplomatic relations.
