Lula and Moro Are Strongest Names for General Elections in 2022, Research Shows

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Datafolha survey published on Sunday, January 5th by the newspaper “Folha de S. Paulo” shows that the Minister of Justice and Public Safety, Sérgio Moro, has the highest rate of confidence among the 12 politicians surveyed.

The survey shows that 33 percent of respondents have a high confidence level in Moro, 23 percent say they have an average level of confidence and a low level for 42 percent.

Ex-President Lula enjoys a high level of confidence by 30 percent, 16 percent claim an average confidence level and 53 percent a low confidence level.

Despite the draw within the margin of error with the former judge on high confidence levels, Datafolha considers the ex-president to rank second place among the 12 politicians for displaying worse rates of average and low-confidence levels.

The institute asked respondents to determine, on a scale of 0 to 10, the level of confidence they had in each of the members on the list. Scores up to 5 are considered low confidence, from 6 to 8, average, and from 9 and 10, high. The index takes into account the grades awarded by those who claim to know the politician in question.

The Datafolha survey interviewed 2,948 people on December 5th and 6th in 176 municipalities across the country. The error margin is 2 percentage points higher or lower and the reliability index is 95 percent.

Next comes President Jair Bolsonaro, with a high confidence level of 22 percent, 22 percent average level and 55 percent low level, and Luciano Huck, with a 21 percent high confidence level, 22 percent average and 55 percent low confidence level, a tie within the error margin.
