The Governments of Venezuela and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday night to deepen commercial and productive relations between both nations and thus increase cooperation in different areas of the economy.

The agreement between the authorities was widely supported by influential private businessmen of the two nations, who held commercial negotiations yesterday and today in different economic sectors, emphasizing the food, energy, industrial, automotive, cosmetics, and health sectors, among others.

The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, presided over the signing of the agreements and expressed that “the Memorandum of Understanding with Turkey is given in a good framework of encouragement, optimism and renewed hope so that our industry and trade grow and develop”.

“We will turn the human, political, diplomatic, cultural, and civilizational relations between Turkey and Venezuela into extraordinary integral economic alliances. Let’s go down that road!” the Venezuelan president said with pleasure.

He assured that both nations are “creating the conditions of mutual trust and logistics, which will be better and better”.

The head of state emphasized that Venezuela and Turkey have “a future of economic and commercial relations of prosperity, growth and shared benefit for our nations”.

The Venezuelan Minister of Petroleum, Tareck El Aissami, highlighted that the parties have established “a robust legal framework, which lays the foundations for a reliable and more agile bilateral trade exchange”.

Both nations understand “the need to promote policies and initiatives that allow the countries to access energy sources and to seek an urgent transition to clean sources that mitigate the serious climate crisis”, he said.
