Fiesta Criolla Sporting is Vina del Mar’s officially sanctioned Fiestas Patrias fonda, running at the Valparaiso Sporting Club’s Espacio Sporting from September 17 through 20, 2026.

The event is distinct from Santiago’s own Fiestas Patrias fondas and from a general national holiday guide already covering the period, since this listing is specific to Vina del Mar’s own celebration.

Food, Stalls and a Craft Fair

Like most Chilean fondas, the event combines traditional food stalls, ramadas and a craft fair, or feria artesanal, alongside the nightly concert lineup.

The Espacio Sporting grounds on Avenida Los Castanos give the fonda more space than a typical neighborhood celebration, accommodating both the food areas and a dedicated concert stage.

Who Is Playing Each Night

The four-night lineup runs Amigo de Artistas on September 17, Maria Jose Quintanilla on September 18, Rafaga on September 19, and Joe Vasconcellos closing the run on September 20.

That spread covers several genres across the four nights, giving visitors a reason to return more than once during the holiday week rather than attending a single show.

Entry Prices and Free Windows

General entry costs CLP 8,000, about US$8 at current exchange rates, plus a service fee through Passline, the ticketing platform handling admission.

The fonda offers free entry between 12 and 2 p.m. for anyone showing ID, and children under 12 get in free at any time, making early afternoon visits an option for budget-conscious families.

Avoiding Confusion With Other Fondas

Chile’s Fiestas Patrias season includes numerous fondas nationwide, including a separate one in Nunoa, Santiago, and general national holiday guides that cover the period broadly rather than any single event.

Fiesta Criolla Sporting is specific to Vina del Mar and should not be confused with those Santiago-based listings or with generic Fiestas Patrias coverage.

Getting to Espacio Sporting

Avenida Los Castanos 404 sits within Vina del Mar proper, reachable by taxi, rideshare or local bus from most points in the city.

What a Fonda Actually Is

A fonda, also called a ramada, is the temporary pavilion at the centre of Chile’s independence holidays around 18 September. Traditionally it was a roof of branches and poles.

In practice today it is a fairground: food stalls, a floor for dancing cueca, games, drink and live music. There is no national accreditation, so official means backed by the municipality.

This one bills itself as the official 18th of Viña. It runs four traditional fondas, more than 60 food vendors, 15 food trucks, 56 traditional games and 110 stalls, and expects over 10,000 visitors a day.

The Free Window, and the Last Train

The most useful thing to know is that entry is free every day from noon until 2pm with valid identification, which is scanned at the gate. The 8,000-peso charge, about US$8.40, applies from 2pm.

Doors admit visitors from noon to midnight on 17, 18 and 19 September, with the site closing at 1.30am. On 20 September entry closes at 6.30pm and the site at 8pm.

Parking is 12,000 pesos a day, roughly US$12.55, sold at the vehicle entrance rather than online. Tickets are one per identity number.

The transport trap is the return journey. The Merval train between Valparaíso and Viña del Mar stops running around 10.15pm and stations close at 11.30pm, while the fonda runs to 1.30am.

Children under twelve enter free, but only accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. There is a funfair on site.

The stage bill runs Amigos de Artistas on the 17th, María José Quintanilla on the 18th, the Argentine cumbia band Ráfaga on the 19th and Joe Vasconcellos on the 20th.
