Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) prices rose slightly over the last 24 hours, driven by optimistic trade developments.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), U.S. crude inventories dropped by 3.2 million barrels, significantly exceeding analyst expectations of a 1.6 million barrel reduction. This sizable inventory draw boosted investor sentiment.

Brent crude increased modestly to around $69.35 per barrel, while WTI reached $66.18 per barrel. Both benchmarks continued a mild upward trajectory, extending gains from the previous session.

The moderate rise reflects cautious optimism stemming from easing trade tensions between the U.S. and key partners, notably Japan and the European Union.

Proposed reduced tariffs at 15% have relieved earlier concerns about potential heavy duties, which could have dampened global oil demand.

Supply factors also influenced prices. Russias reported plan to cut gasoline exports created uncertainty about refined product availability, supporting oil prices.

Additionally, market observers carefully watched potential changes in Venezuelan oil exports, particularly regarding Chevrons operations resuming there, which could alter global supply balances.

From a technical perspective, oil markets showed consolidation on both daily and 4-hour charts. Bollinger Bands on the daily chart narrowed significantly, signaling reduced volatility and possible breakout potential.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) remained moderate at about 55 for WTI and around 52 for Brent, indicating balanced momentum rather than overbought conditions.

On the 4-hour charts, prices traded just above key moving averages. Brent hovered near the 50-period Exponential Moving Average (EMA) around mid-$68, suggesting a critical resistance area.

The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) showed modest bullish momentum without decisive signals of immediate direction.

The Global Liquidity Index (NDQ) remained stable, reflecting overall neutral market liquidity without drastic changes influencing price movements.

Trading volumes showed no significant spikes, underscoring investor caution and consolidation. Macroeconomic factors, particularly U.S. trade policy and inventory levels, currently dominate market movements.

Geopolitical tensions, including Russias export strategies and potential Venezuelan oil production adjustments, add complexity to forecasting price directions.

Market participants are closely watching upcoming economic indicators from major economies, including U.S. manufacturing and employment data, to gauge future oil demand accurately. Any changes in these economic fundamentals could prompt decisive price movements shortly.
