New Urban Mobility App Will Include Buses, Subways, Trains and Bicycles in São Paulo

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The App will be available for Android and iOS. In it, users may enter their destination to find the best transport alternative: car, train, bus, or even bicycle.

To assess which is the best transport mode for a given route, the tool will take into account factors such as price and time.

Pedro Somma, Quicko’s Director of Institutional Relations, talked about the App: “We believe that greater alternatives to get around, based on real-time information, help users decide the best route in an intelligent, convenient and, of course, economical way.”

“This directly improves people’s quality of life. In other cities around the world, where mobility is more developed, we realize that intermodal connections are beneficial to the population and we want to be the agent of this change here”.

Users will be able to know the exact location of a shared bicycle station, for instance, and the number of bicycles available.

The App will be free to use, initially without an obligation to register, requesting only authorized access to the user’s cell phone GPS.

The company’s CEO, Maurício Quinze, said that the App will soon “work as a marketplace, linking convenience services for our users to their route, such as renting umbrellas, as well as ordering food while moving, we will take services to people and not people to services”.

The tool will rely on information provided by public bodies such as Metrô, EMTU, and SPTrans.
