Maduro says Russia is interested in importing Venezuelan buffalo meat and derivatives.

According to the government, Venezuela has the largest buffalo herd in Latin America, followed by Brazil and Colombia in third place.

There are 2.9 million buffalo in the Caribbean; two-thirds are female. 400,000 of them are involved in milk production, giving an average of six liters of milk per day per animal, according to official figures.

In addition, the South American country has the Bufalinda dairy company, which produces 10,000 liters of buffalo milk daily.

Maduro reiterated that his government is working to make Venezuela a food-producing and exporting power.
