President of Paraguay to participate in South American leaders’ meeting in Brazil

The President of Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benítez, will travel this Tuesday to the Brazilian capital, Brasilia, to participate in the meeting of South American leaders at the invitation of his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The meeting will be attended by the presidents of the 12 South American countries, except for the President of Peru, Dina Boluarte, who will be represented by the head of the Council of Ministers, Alberto Otárola.

“On the part of Paraguay, the position is to learn from the mistakes and successes, from the integration processes we have already had, and, in this sense, President Abdo has a very integrationist position, especially when we talk about South America”, said today the Paraguayan Foreign Minister, Julio César Arriola, at a press conference.

He added that “it will be an opportunity for the presidents to talk sincerely about a stronger, more viable and more efficient integration process in times like the ones we are living in the world and for the current life of our countries”.

Arriola also informed that the meeting will be held behind closed doors.
