RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - A PoderData poll, conducted April 24-26, 2022, shows that 33% of the Brazilian population favors the federal government facilitating the acquisition of firearms. However, the majority (62%) oppose the measure. Another 5% did not respond.
Making the sale, carrying, and possession of guns more flexible was one of President Jair Bolsonaro's (PL) campaign mottos. Currently, there are more than 1 million legalized guns in Brazil.
