Elections Brazil: Sérgio Moro abandons his presidential candidacy

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Former judge Sergio Moro left Podemos, the party he joined in November 2021, and decided to join União Brasil on Thursday, December 31. This afternoon, Moro announced that he had abandoned his candidacy for President of the Republic.

"To join the new party, at this moment, I renounce the presidential candidacy, and I will be a soldier of democracy to realize the dream of a better Brazil," Moro said in an official statement. According to him, the change of legends was communicated to the leadership of Podemos.
