Dollar records biggest daily loss in 16 months and closes at R$5.37

A recovery in the stock market also marked the day. Ibovespa index B3 closed at 100,270 points, up 1.36%. The indicator closed at the highest level since July 8.

Relief in domestic and international markets led the dollar to record the most significant daily loss in 16 months, closing below R$ 5.40. The stock market rose more than 1% and closed above 100 thousand points for the first time in almost three weeks.

The commercial dollar closed this Monday (25) and sold at R$ 5.37, dropping R$ 0.129 (-2.35%). The price moved to a low throughout the day and closed near the session's lows.
