Brazil’s Bolsonaro issues Provisional Measure to pay Brazil Aid in December

The government is still awaiting the promulgation by Congress of the constitutional amendment (PEC) to create room within the budget to pay the benefit in 2022.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - President Jair Bolsonaro on Tuesday, December 7, enacted a Provisional Measure (MP) to enable the payment of "Auxílio Brasil" (Brazil Aid) at R$400 (US$71) per month in December.

The Provisional Measure was published in an extra edition of the Federal Gazette.

The text establishes an "extraordinary benefit" aimed at complementing the average amount already paid to families (R$217) and reach the R$400 initially pledged by Bolsonaro.

According to the Ministry of Citizenship, the new amount will be deposited to beneficiaries starting next Friday, December 10 . . .
