Brazil records the sharpest drop in unemployment in one year among 40 countries

According to a survey conducted by the risk rating agency Austin Rating, Brazil has recorded the sharpest decline in the unemployment rate in one year among 40 countries.

The indicator fell from 13.1% in August 2021 to 8.9% in the same period this year, a decrease of 4.2 percentage points.

The country's unemployment rate began to decline in the last half of last year, reaching 8.9% in the quarter that ended in August.

The percentage is the lowest since July 2015, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
