Bolsonaro Pulls Brazil Out of International Pact on Population Control

By · November 16, 2019 · 1 min read

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Thursday, November 14th, ten countries disengaged from the agreement of the UN-sponsoredd International Conference on Population and Development, which calls for population control.

President Jair Bolsonaro decided to withdraw the country from the pro-abortion International Pact.

One of the measures of the document is the maintenance of “sexual and reproductive rights”, which would allow abortion.

The United States was the first country to demonstrate against the treaty.

“There is no international right to abortion. In fact, international law clearly says that everyone has the right to life,” said Valeria Huber, representative of the United States.

The ten nations then signed a common manifesto rejecting “references to international documents with ambiguous terms and expressions, such as sexual and reproductive rights, which do not enjoy an international consensus”.
