Amorphis have spent thirty-five years turning Finnish national poetry into metal, and the Borderland tour reaches three Brazilian cities inside four days.

Three Cities in Four Days

Amorphis play three dates in Brazil in October 2026 on the tour for their album Borderland. The run opens in Curitiba on Thursday 15 October at Tork n’ Roll, on Avenida Marechal Floriano Peixoto 1695 in the Rebouças district.

Belo Horizonte follows on Saturday 17 October at Mister Rock, Avenida Teresa Cristina 295 in Prado. The run closes in São Paulo on Sunday 18 October at the Carioca Club, Rua Cardeal Arcoverde 2899 in Pinheiros. Gates open at 7 p.m. at all three.

Tickets are sold through Clube do Ingresso, with a separate listing for each city. The first standing tier sold out and a further tier was opened, which is the only public indication of demand so far.

Three dates is more than most European bands of this size commit to in Brazil, where a single São Paulo show is the norm. The routing also skips Rio de Janeiro, which is unusual and worth knowing if you live there.

A Band Built on a National Epic

Amorphis formed in Helsinki in 1990 and began in death metal. The turn came with the 1994 album Tales from the Thousand Lakes, which set lyrics drawn from the Kalevala against melodic guitar writing and, later, clean vocals.

The Kalevala is Finland’s national epic, compiled in the nineteenth century from oral poetry collected in Karelia. It carried a good part of the argument for Finnish independence, and it remains a fixed point in the country’s sense of itself.

Using it as a lyrical source is not a costume. Several Amorphis albums work through specific figures and cycles from the poem, and the band has returned to it across three decades and several changes of singer.

That is one reason the music travels. The songs are built on melodies with a clear modal character, which carries across languages, and the subject matter is narrative rather than confessional.

The current album, Borderland, gives the tour its name. The band has kept the same core line-up for much of the past two decades. That is unusual at this length of career, and it shows in how settled the live sets are.

In Curitiba, Tork n’ Roll sits on Avenida Marechal Floriano Peixoto in Rebouças. It is close to the city centre and served by the bus network the city is known for. Curitiba is cold by Brazilian standards in October, and evenings can drop sharply.

In Belo Horizonte, Mister Rock is on Avenida Teresa Cristina in Prado, west of the centre along the Arrudas stream. The area is not a nightlife district, so a ride app in both directions is the straightforward approach.

In São Paulo, the Carioca Club is on Rua Cardeal Arcoverde in Pinheiros, one of the better connected parts of the city. Faria Lima and Fradique Coutinho metro stations are both within walking distance, and Pinheiros is busy and well lit after a show.

A Sunday night finish in São Paulo is the one to plan for. The metro closes around midnight, and a show with gates at 7 p.m. will run close to that.

Anyone considering all three dates should look at the bus network rather than at flights. Curitiba to São Paulo is a comfortable overnight coach, and Belo Horizonte to São Paulo is around eight hours. Domestic flights in Brazil are expensive when booked late.
