Waiting for US visa renewal decreases at US consulate posts in Brazil
The waiting list for the renewal interview for the American tourism and business visa has dropped at all US consulate offices in Brazil.
There are five posts of the US consulate in the country: Brasília, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
The shortest waiting time is in Brasilia, with 20 days. The longest waiting period is in Recife, where the interview can take up to 65 days.

In the capital of Rio de Janeiro, the period can last up to 23 days. In São Paulo, the time has decreased to 35 days.
In early November, the deadline reached eight months. Finally, in Porto Alegre, the interview may take place within a period of 56 days.
The information is on the website of the US Department of State.
Visas of the category expired up to 48 months are considered renewal. The process for obtaining the first tourist and business visa for entering the US is longer. In Recife, it takes 332 days, the lowest recorded. Next come Porto Alegre (352 days), Brasília (399), Rio de Janeiro (437) and São Paulo (491).
