“Gira Música” was created by Gira Brazil, a movement led by DJs and LP’s collectors that aims to rescue the vinyl culture and redeem the Brazilian music.

According to André Costenplatte, one of Gira Brazil’s founders, “Gira Música” was born as a response to the growing consumption of LP disc across the world.

“The vinyl disc has become significantly trendy in Brazil in the last years. A lot of young people have started their own collections. We want to keep the vynil alive and create an alternative opportunity to the music industry and to the audience”, he explains.

Concerned in attracting both amateurs and specialists, “Gira Música” will promote a wide variety of cultural attractions. The phonographic industry’s enthusiasts will have the opportunity to exchange discos, participate in DJ workshops, discos’ recording, and talks on subjects like the use of sampler, copyrights, mixing techniques and music styles.

Regarding the music attractions, “Gira Música” promises an eventful line up: over ten DJs will be running the pick ups, including duos playing at the same time, and Bruno Pedrosa will present a live artistic performance.

What’s more, the audience can find art, food, LPs and beer stalls at the event, including Cerveja Complexo do Alemão’s artisanal beer, from Complexo do Alemão’s community, and Bar do Adão’s traditional Brazilian finger food.

“Carioquíssima, the creative economy fair we also run, has always been successful. We believe it will not be different with Gira Música at Casa da Polônia. We want this to be an event for the entire family”, states Costenplatte.
