Sjava 10 Year Celebration Tour Ends Sold Out in South Africa on 23 October

The Sjava 10 Year Celebration tour ends at a sold-out Carnival City, marking a decade of the isiZulu singer’s music.

Sjava, one of South Africa’s best-known isiZulu singers, closes his anniversary tour near Johannesburg in October. The Sjava 10 Year Celebration show at the Big Top Arena, Carnival City, on Friday 23 October 2026 is sold out.

The show starts at 18:00, and under-18s are not admitted. Webtickets, the official seller, and the venue both mark it as sold out.

Sjava 10 Year Celebration: Date, Venue and Sell-Out

Carnival City is a Sun International casino resort in Brakpan, on the East Rand of greater Johannesburg. The Big Top Arena is its main concert venue.

Tickets cost R400–600 (US$24–37) in general categories on Webtickets, where Sjava himself is listed as the organiser. The Johannesburg date was already reported sold out in April, alongside Pretoria.

Sun International says no under-18s are allowed. Parking at the resort costs R20 (US$1) per vehicle, and members of its loyalty programme park free.

Johannesburg is the last stop of the tour. Earlier dates included Cape Town, Durban, Middelburg and Pretoria.

Cape Town and Durban sold out, and Pretoria and Johannesburg had both sold out by late April, Music In Africa reported. The tour also stopped in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, on 1 May.

Who Sjava Is

Sjava, whose real name is Jabulani Hadebe, comes from the Bergville area of KwaZulu-Natal. He sings mostly in isiZulu, mixing Afro-pop, hip-hop and traditional Zulu sounds.

Maskandi, a Zulu guitar music known for fast, rolling picking and praise poetry, echoes through much of his work.

His debut album, Isina Muva, came out in 2016, the start of the decade the tour celebrates. In 2018 he won the BET viewers’ award for best new international act.

Later albums include Umqhele and Isibuko. In January 2026 he released INkanyezi NeZinkanyezi, completing his Inkanyezi trilogy.

Inkanyezi means star in isiZulu. The trilogy, two live EPs from 2025 and the January album, is the latest chapter of his decade.

He runs his own label, 1020 Cartel, after leaving Ambitiouz Entertainment. The set promises songs from across his career, from Isina Muva to the Inkanyezi trilogy.

Why an isiZulu Singer Sells Out Arenas

IsiZulu is South Africa’s most widely spoken home language, and Sjava writes for that audience first. His songs deal with family, faith, love and life in rural KwaZulu-Natal.

His sell-outs show how far local-language music has come in South Africa’s charts and concert halls. An artist no longer needs to sing in English to fill an arena.

South Africa’s music market has leaned towards local sounds over the past decade, with amapiano and Afro-pop leading the way. Sjava sits alongside that wave with a more traditional voice.

Carnival City’s event page calls the night “more than a concert”. It describes a celebration of “ten incredible years of music, meaning, and magic”.

What It Means If You Live in Johannesburg

Bring an ID document, as the 18-plus rule may be checked at the door. If you do not have a ticket, the official sale is over.

Tickets offered on social media or resale sites may be fake, and they carry no guarantee of entry. Webtickets is the only official channel.

Carnival City is about 35 kilometres east of central Johannesburg, not far from OR Tambo airport. Driving or a ride-hailing app is the usual way to get there, as public transport is limited at night.

Friday-evening traffic east of the city is heavy, so leave early. The resort has restaurants, so you can eat before the 18:00 start.

Carnival City also has its own hotel, an option for anyone who would rather not drive home late. Rooms can be booked through Sun International.

Sjava also headlines a Heritage Day concert in Durban on 24 September, in the Music at the Lake series. That concert is separate from the anniversary tour.

Any further dates would appear on Webtickets, where Sjava is listed as the organiser. None had been announced by 24 September 2026.

For fans who missed out, his January album, INkanyezi NeZinkanyezi, and his earlier records are on the main streaming services. The anniversary set list itself had not been published.
