RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The State of São Paulo is working with a minimum isolation rate of 55 percent in order to prevent cases of the novel coronavirus from compromising the health care system.

At a press conference held in the Bandeirantes Palace, where the extension of quarantine in the state until May 31st was announced, the president of the Butantan Institute, Dimas Tadeu Covas, acting coordinator of the Contingency Center, said that São Paulo may reach 11,000 deaths by May 31st, by May 8th it had registered 3,416.
