Peruvian fashion and clothing being presented in Germany’s capital Berlin

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Perú Moda Showroom Berlin 2021 will be held from September 21 to 24, according to a press release from the Peruvian Export and Tourism Promotion Commission (PromPerú).

“It is an exclusive exhibition space for the clothing and decoration industry, where potential buyers will have the opportunity to appreciate in situ the quality, finesse, texture and innovation of the most select Peruvian offerings in this industry,” they explained.

Some 20 companies from the cities of Junin, Arequipa and Lima are part of this meeting that takes place in the South Embassy boutique, one of the main platforms for the promotion of Latin American fashion in the city of Berlin. The store is located in the Mitte district, known for its art galleries, style, and permanent cultural exhibitions that usually attract international audiences.

Among the products found in this showroom are alpaca and cotton garments, home textiles and decorations, and sustainable items made from natural fibers.

According to PromPerú, this initiative marks the beginning of a series of face-to-face and digital formats that will be held this year as a preamble to the virtual edition of the Perú Moda Deco fair, which will join the Alpaca Fiesta event for the first time.

After the presentation in Berlin, the tour will continue to cities such as Copenhagen, New York, Buenos Aires, and Santiago. In the medium term, the companies will do business and increase their exports.

WHY BERLIN?

The organization explained that the city of Berlin was chosen to start this cycle because it is considered worldwide as one of the headquarters of sustainable fashion, has a significant number of designers, agents, fashion schools, influencers, and specialized press; and also to give continuity to the Berlin Fashion Week, which was held earlier this month.

According to data released by PromPerú, German consumers in 2020 spent 1.9 billion euros on fair trade goods.
