Paraguay: Exports generate more than US$3.8 billion between January and August 2022
Between January and August 2022, the industrial, manufacturing and agro-industrial sectors of Paraguay managed to make exports valued at US$3.838 billion, which represented 67% of the total goods mobilized so far this year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC).
Likewise, the economic report of the Vice Ministry of Industry pointed out that, of the US$3.838 billion, 27% (US$1.018 billion) correspond to manufacturing goods, while 73% (US$2.820 billion) are related to agribusiness goods.

In addition, the document highlighted that, if the US$3.838 billion of the analysis time frame is compared with that registered in the same period of 2021, which reached US$3.232 billion, an increase of 19% stands out.

MANUFACTURED PRODUCTS
From January to August 2022, the total export of manufacturing products reached a total of US$1.018 billion, a figure 27% higher than the US$808 million registered in the months of January to August of the year 2021.
76% of manufacturing shipments were destined for the countries of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), where Brazil accounted for 60%, Argentina 14% and Uruguay 2%. Other relevant destinations were the United States, 6%; Chile and Bolivia, 4% each; Germany, Canada, India, Peru and Ecuador, 1% each.
Regarding the exported products, the manufacture of Apparel and Auto Parts are in the first places with 19% each, followed by Aluminum products and their manufactures and Herbicides and fertilizers with 11% and 8% respectively; Plastics and their manufactures and Iron and their manufactures with 6% each; Paper, cardboard and their manufactures, Pharmaceutical products, Miscellaneous manufactures with 4% each; and, finally, Copper with 3%.
AGROINDUSTRIAL GOODS
Regarding the mobilization of agro-industrial goods, the statistics register an increase of 16% in relation to the same period (January to August) of the year 2021. The accumulated export values report a total value of US$2.82 billion, which represented US$395 million more than what was accumulated in the months of January to August of the year 2021 (US$2.425 billion).
Among the main agro-industrial goods exported are Meat products and their derivatives, 49%; Oil of vegetable and animal origin, 20%; flour, cake and waste, 19%; Beverages, 3%; Hides, 2%; Mix for bakery products, 2%; and Sugar, 1%.
The main destination markets for agro-industrial goods were Chile, 19%; Argentina, 15%; Brazil, 11%; Russia, 8%; Taiwan, 6%; Poland, 4%; Israel, 4%; United States, 3%; Uruguay, 3%; UK, 2%; India, 2%. As a whole, Mercosur concentrated 29% of the total agro-industrial goods exported from January to August of the year 2022.
