Méliuz Enters Final Phase to List Shares on U.S. Exchange
Méliuz, a Brazilian fintech company, has entered the final stage to list its shares on the US OTCQX market, according to official company filings.
The company will not issue new shares or raise capital through this process. Instead, it will make its existing shares, already traded on Brazil’s B3 exchange, available for US investors through a new ticker on the OTCQX platform.
This move aims to increase Méliuz’s visibility and access to international investors while maintaining its primary listing in Brazil. The OTCQX market represents the highest tier of the US over-the-counter markets, demanding strict governance and compliance standards.
Companies must meet strong financial criteria and maintain consistent disclosures to participate. Méliuz chose this route because it aligns with its current financial and governance practices in Brazil.
The company expects the listing to conclude within four weeks, depending on regulatory and procedural approvals. Founded in 2011, Méliuz began as a cashback service for online shoppers and has expanded into digital financial services.
Now, it serves more than 30 million users with products that include digital accounts, credit cards, and investment options. The company has also developed a reputation for high trading volume and liquidity on the Brazilian stock exchange.
Méliuz Soars 200% After Adopting Bitcoin as Treasury Strategy
Méliuz’s stock performance has drawn attention this year. Since the start of 2025, its share price has surged by nearly 200 percent. This rise follows a bold shift in its corporate strategy.
In May 2025, Méliuz’s shareholders approved a plan to make Bitcoin a core treasury asset. The company then acquired 320 bitcoins at an average price of about $101,700 per coin, totaling over $33 million in Bitcoin holdings.
This move makes Méliuz the first publicly traded company in Brazil and Latin America to officially adopt Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset. The company’s leadership has stated that its main mission is to maximize the number of bitcoins per share for its investors.
Méliuz uses its own cash flow and capital market tools to accumulate Bitcoin over time. The company’s filings show that it intends to continue this strategy, seeking additional funding through debt securities or potential share offerings to support further Bitcoin purchases.
As of July 2025, Méliuz’s market capitalization stands at around R$797 million, or about $140 million. The company’s stock remains among the most traded and liquid technology shares on the B3 exchange.
Its approach has set it apart in the region, as few companies have embraced cryptocurrency as a core part of their financial strategy. Méliuz’s decision to list on the US OTCQX market gives American investors easier access to its shares.
This step could increase trading volume and attract new capital. The company’s focus on Bitcoin as a treasury asset also positions it at the forefront of a broader trend, as more firms worldwide consider digital assets for diversification and value preservation.
Méliuz’s actions reflect a pragmatic business strategy aimed at expanding its investor base and strengthening its balance sheet with alternative assets.
