Independent Designers Fair Returns to Rio this Weekend

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Fashion and clothing fair O Mercado – Estilistas Independentes returns to Rio de Janeiro this weekend for its first 2017 event. The collective, made up of independent clothing, accessory, art and décor designers, will hold the market during the afternoon on February 4th and 5th in Botafogo.

Entrance to the market, which gathers dozens of Rio’s independent designers and will be in Botafogo’s Solar das Palmeiras, is free and will run from 1PM until 9PM on Saturday February 4th and Sunday February 5th.

In addition to its usual offerings, this weekend’s edition of O Mercado – Estilistas Independentes will have a Carnival theme and aims to help visitors prepare some of their costumes for this year’s celebrations.

The event promises to provide special Carnival accessories as well as costumes created by some of the market’s designers, and visitors who come in costume will be offered a ten percent discount to their first purchase.

O Mercado – Estilistas Independentes also promises gourmet food from independent providers, ranging from burgers, sandwiches and pizza to bar food, comfort food and sweets. Drinks will also be on offer, including local craft beers.

Music will be provided throughout the event by DJ Galalau and DJ Lili Prohmann, and the event will have an indoor and outdoor section for visitors to enjoy.
