RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Friday, June 12th, the Ministry of Health released a new website for monitoring novel coronavirus (Covid-19) cases throughout the country. Features include the number of cases of recovered patients and those under follow-up, as well as graphs showing the evolution of daily deaths from the disease.

Through the new platform, users have access to the number of inhabitants in the country and the number of deaths per 100,000 people, factors considered to assess the rate of contagion of the novel coronavirus. Searching cases by municipality is also available. The data source is information forwarded by the State Health Secretariats.

According to the most recent balance released on Thursday, June 11th, there were 1,239 new deaths and 30,412 new cases of Covid-19 in the preceding 24 hours. With these added statistics, the country reached 40,919 deaths from the novel coronavirus pandemic and 802,828 infections. The country also counts 416,314 people under observation and 345,595 have recovered.
