Unicamp announces suspension of mandatory mask use starting Sept. 20

The State University of Campinas Unicamp announced Monday (12) that from Sept. 20, it would suspend the mandatory use of masks as a protective measure against Covid-19 indoors in universities and colleges.

Despite the decision, the university continues to recommend the use of protective equipment, especially for people who are 60 years or older, have comorbidities, are immunocompromised, or have respiratory problems.

The measure does not change the protocol in health care settings, such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, clinics, and health posts, which continue to require mask use.
