On October 12, Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer Sanctuary celebrated the 91st anniversary of its inauguration.
To mark the date, a Thanksgiving mass was celebrated at 7 AM, presided over by the Archbishop of Rio, Cardinal Orani João Tempesta.
At 8:30 AM, the traditional commemorative cake was distributed, prepared by the traditional organization Sociedade Amigos da Rua da Carioca e Adjacências (Sarca).
