Canadian Daymak will manufacture high-end electric cars in Argentina for export

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Argentina’s Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, met with executives of the consortium led by Canada’s Daymak Inc. and Argentine companies FDC Competición and Emerx, who presented their investment project to manufacture their Spiritus model in the country, the first high-end electric car produced in Argentina exclusively for export.

“Argentina has the raw materials (lithium), the technology and the human and professional resources to move forward in sustainable mobility. The quality of the Argentine industry was decisive in the decision to produce this high-quality electric car in the country,” stressed Minister Kulfas, adding, “Investments like this are a great opportunity to reposition our automotive industry in the world and create more production and Argentine jobs.”

The meeting was attended by Daymak President Aldo Baiocchi, the company’s Director of Research and Development Mike Chow, FDC Argentina owner Javier Ciabattari, and the vehicle’s designer Fabián Magri. Also present as representatives of Emerx S.A. were Gustavo Castells and Carlos Alonso.

The design and construction of the prototype are from the company FDC Competición and are entirely national. The proportion of national parts and assemblies in the series production, scheduled for the second half of next year, will be over 40%.

The directors explained that it is a high-performance three-wheeled vehicle characterized by an acceleration coefficient unique in the market, achieved through a special battery system capable of supplying 1000 amps to the three independent motors in the center of the wheels.

The driving conditions are of the Supersport type, similar to those of the vehicles of the most prestigious brands in the world.

SPIRITUS

The Spiritus will be offered in two versions, the Deluxe and Ultimate.

The top version of this two-seater will reach 100 km/h in less than 2 seconds, and the selling price will be around US$200,000 in Europe and the United States. In addition, there will be a lower model range at a lower price.

Both models boast car-like specs, including airbags, enforced body, three-point seatbelts, Wi-Fi connectivity, AC, 12-speaker stereo system, back-up camera, GPS alarm system, and room for two plus luggage.

The Ultimate model, which starts at US$149,000 (the Deluxe is US$200,000) also boasts autonomous driving, solar panels on the roof, Tesla-like acceleration, and wireless charging.

Both models will come with a crypto wallet and the ability to mine for cryptocurrency while parked, so they will literally be making money for their owners
