RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve, confirmed the presence of three international criminal organizations in Chile.
It was in a conversation with Las Últimas Noticias that the authority also pointed out that the arrival of organized crime “involves more violence, more weapons and more homicides.”

In this way, Monsalve assured that there are three of the five most dangerous organizations in the world that already have a presence in Chile. These are the Aragua Train, Jalisco New Generation and the Sinaloa Cartel.
The authority also indicated that organized crime is one of the worst threats facing democratic Chile, and maintained that the security of citizens is the government’s priority.
Faced with these statements, the president of the Security Commission of the Lower House and deputy of the Socialist Party, Raúl Leiva, said that the State must take urgent measures.
Also a member of the committee and head of the UDI, Jorge Alessandri, was more critical, indicating that border security is not enough.
Monsalve, additionally, reported that we live in a violent continent. Latin America and Central America, for example, concentrate 8% of the world’s population, but have 40% of global homicides.
